| The effectiveness
of this service has been evaluated many times and results
show 93% of clients watch the TV and 85% regard the programme
content as very useful.
Research clearly shows that the TV is more effective in attracting
peoples’ interest compared to leaflets and posters.
To demonstrate the effectiveness of the service, we carry
out an on-going programme of exit polls in conjunction with
our clients. Patients in practices throughout the country
are questioned about their reaction to The Health Channel
as they leave the surgeries.
The sample covered a cross section of the
general population. At all sites, patients believe they wait
a shorter time than the amount of information they recall
would indicate.
